Erosión después de incendios forestales

Abstract

El presente artículo revisa el estado de conocimiento actual sobre los principales cambios en las propiedades físicas del suelo con repercusión en los procesos erosivos. Se resumen los resultados de estudios sobre erosión post-fuego realizados en diferentes partes del mundo y se discuten brevemente los factores más influyentes en la generación de las pérdidas de suelo por erosión después del fuego. A continuación se revisan algunos de los modelos de predicción de la erosión más ampliamente utilizados e información sobre la efectividad de los principales tratamientos de emergencia en laderas para evitar o reducir las pérdidas de suelo después de incendios forestales.

A review of the state of the art on the main alterations in soil physical properties related with post-fire soil erosion is presented. The results of research studies on post-fire soil erosion carried out worldwide are compiled, emphasizing in the most influential factors related with soil losses. Finally, the available information on the feasibility of different soil erosion prediction models to predict soil erosion after fire and on the effectiveness of different post-fire soil stabilization treatments is summarized.
