Los BsRsD surgieron para atender de forma directa las necesidades de desarrollo de zonas geográficas determinadas, en algunas de las cuales (África y Asia) el fin de la etapa colonial dio paso a la aparición de nuevos Estados y nuevas relaciones internacionales. Así surgieron, el BID, el BAfD y el BAsD. El desmoronamiento de las economías planificadas centralmente está en el origen del BERD para apoyar a los países del Este en su desarrollo hacia la economía de mercado. Entre las instituciones de desarrollo existentes, se analiza el BEI como institución representativa de las Instituciones Financieras Multilaterales, que se diferencian de los BsRsD por su menor tamaño y áreas específicas de actividad. ________________________________________The RDBs arose to attend directly the development needs in certain geographical areas, in some of them (Africa and Asia) the end of the colonial era opened the way to the emerging of the new States and new international relations.
