Abstract

Este artículo describe la presencia de estructuras de desvitrificación dentro de lavas calcoalcalinas ácidas de la región de Sarrabus, SE de la isla de Cerdeña, Italia (Silúrico-Devónico). La desvitrificación varía desde etapas micropoiquilíticas hasta esferulíticas; las esferulitas crecieron tanto en fenocristales como en mesostasis. Las estructuras de desvitrificación comparables con las actuales evidencian la preservación de lavas ácidas dentro de un ambiente tranquilo, aislado de actividad tectónica y sin degradación superficial importante.

This note describes the presence of fine devitrification structures within the acid calcalkaline lavas of Sarrabus region, SE Sardinia, Italy (Silurian-Devonian). Devitrification ranges from micropoikilitic to spherulitic stages; spherulites grew both on phenocrysts and on mesostase. Devitrification structures comparable to the present ones evidences preservation of acid lavas within a quiet environment, isolated from tectonic activity and without important superficial leaching
