Murales prensa-escuela: la prensa como recurso didáctico

Abstract

This chapter pursues as the main objective, to analyze school wall newspapers made by Grupo Pedagógico Prensa y Educación (Pedagogic Group of Press and Education) which emerged from a permanent seminary of CEP Huelva. The first one saw the light in 1989, considering as a goal the creation of “press’ workshops” in educational centres with three versions: media studies, the elaboration of a newspaper, and the critical study of media. These kinds of school-newspapers were coined as “School wall newspapers” in the 90s, and apart from the press, they also introduced other topics such as films, and television. Once having analyzed these posters, it is shown the innovation they proposed as a didactic use of the press in the educational centre; sharpening the critical sense, and encouraging the student body.
