The non-marine Upper Thanetian-Lutetian sediments from Ulldemolins Complex show high variety of facies and lithosomes with complex geometrical relationships between them. Correspond to distal alluvial deposits, made up of scarce fluvial channel deposits which fill a mud flat where some ephemeral limestone-dominated and evaporitic lakes are developed. An alluvial system prograded later over those materials. The stratigraphic correlation allows to detect some terrigenous intercalations that are interpreted as being the sedimentary response to either some tectonic impulses or climatic variations.
