Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine productivity and scientifi c collaboration of the authors who have published in the journal Revista Española de Drogodependencias during the period 2001-2010. In order to do so we have applied the social network analysis methodologies. Social network analysis is a tool used increasingly to understand the relationships between the different elements that comprise a bibliographic scientifi c work. This paper presents a study of the researchers' collaboration patterns and built networks of co-authorship and collaboration to identify the different research groups and participation on women in them. It is observed that there is an increase in the number of works by women throughout the period studied, however, regarding production and collaboration the results allow to verify that there are no signifi cant differences between genders. The information collected was analyzed by using Pajek and Ucinet programs and the implementation of the software Netdraw graphics.
