Abstract

[EN] The steps needed for an evaluation of the chemical carcinogens within a programme for primary prevention of cancer in Spain are considered. The avaílable data on the evaluation of carcinogenic risk of chemicals are reviewed and ít ís suggested that they should be used as a guide for the evaluation of this problem in Spain . The following steps are proposed for the implementation of a plan on chemical carcinogenesis : a) Coordinati on of existing data and experiments. b) Integration of the experimental data with epidemiological studies, retrospective and prospective. c) Development of experimental studies on chemical carcinogens to obtain the information required for the evaluation of their carcinogenic risk.
