Orobanche crenata is a root parasitic wedd that severely constrain legume cultivation in Mediterranean countries. The best long-term strategy for limiting damage caused by O. crenata is the development of resistant cultivars, but only moderate to low levels of incomplete resistance with a complex inheritance has been identified in crop legumes so far.
