Abstract

The polychaeta fauna of the Gibraltar Straits area. I. Amphinomida, Spintherida and Phyllodocida. - During the last three years faunistic studies have been carried out at the Straits of Gibraltar. A to establish the associations of the Annelida Polychaeta in the mediolittoral and infralittoral belts and to contribute to the systematic and faunistic knowledge of these animals. A list of the collected species belonging to the orders Amphinomida, Spintherida and Phyllodocida is given. The number of collected specimens, faunistic and systematic criteria are discussed and related to the observations carried out in the area.
