Abstract

El objetivo central de esta tesis es el estudio del urbanismo de la Murcia islámica, llamada en las fuentes árabes Madînat Múrsiya, que viene a ser el de los primeros cinco siglos de su historia: desde su fundación en el 825 por orden del emir ‘Abd al-Rahmân II hasta la conquista cristiana de mediados del siglo XIII e incluso también del período inmediatamente posterior, cuando tienen lugar las primeras transformaciones como consecuencia de la implantación de repobladores en el espacio urbano que había configurado una sociedad muy diferente
