La sesión repasa desarrollos en el modo en que se comunica, evalúa y mide el impacto de la ciencia en un entorno de acceso abierto. Entre ellos destacan el auge de nuevos indicadores de impacto de la producción científica, propuestas para reformar los sistemas de evaluación, nuevos métodos de revisión por pares, servicios de valor añadido para repositorios, crecimiento de mandatos y políticas de acceso abierto de agencias financiadoras y la ventaja comparativa del acceso abierto.
