Optimización del perfil del suelo para ahorrar agua en el riego superficial

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta y aplica una nueva metodología, llamada chinachana, que permite conocer la forma topográfica óptima de un campo de riego superficial, en cuanto al aprovechamiento del agua de riego. Para cualquier variante del riego superficial (tablar o surco, con final abierto o cerrado), la metodología permite conocer la forma curva de un campo de riego que hace que el agua de riego se distribuya homogéneamente, tomando como datos los parámetros de infiltración, el coeficiente de Manning, el caudal de riego (que ha de ser suficientemente alto), la geometría del campo y la dosis de riego. La metodología se basa en elevar topográficamente los puntos del campo con mayor infiltración, para así disminuirla, y en bajar topográficamente los puntos con menor infiltración, para así aumentarla. De este modo, en un proceso iterativo, se consigue homogeneizar la infiltración, alcanzándose teóricamente un riego superficial uniforme. La metodología se aplica a seis casos diferentes, mostrándose gráficamente los resultados obtenidos y las formas óptimas alcanzadas. Para ello, se recurre a tres programas de simulación hidráulica del riego superficial (POZAL, WinSRFR y B2D). En la parte final, se discute la metodología con especial énfasis en la aplicación práctica de sus resultados, concluyéndose que pueden ser útiles cuando el agua para el riego superficial es un bien escaso o caro.
