No hubo interacción efectos génicos x ambiente.
[EN] Pink stem borer (Sesamia nonagrioides Lefebvre) is the main sweet corn (Zea mays L.) pest in Mediterranean countries. To release insect resistant cultivars, it is necessary to know the genetics of the resistance to the pest. The objective of this work was to determine the importance of inheritance factors controlling sweet corn ear resistance to pink stem borer, using generation mean analysis. Four inbreds were used (EP59, P51, I5125, and EP61) and two crosses were made (EP59 x P51 and I5125 x EP61). For each cross, six generations were evaluated. Genetic effects x environment interaction were not significant. For PSB infestation both crosses fitted to an additive-dominant model. There were significant additive effects for most traits, although in the cross I5125 x EP61 dominant effects were significant. Since ear resistance to PSB involved mainly additive effects for this set of inbreds, breeding procedures based on this type of gene action should be effective.
