Abstract

[EN] The origin of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris, L.) is the american continent where, there are two domestication centers, Andean and Mesoamerican centers. Phaseolin, as reserve protein of seed, It is important to know domestication patterns of common bean. lt was studied 132 varieties from Spain by lD-SDS-PAGE to observe different patterns of phaseolin. Therefore, it was observed variation in all varieties, although, the most frecuent types were T or H, which are from the Andean center. So, the seeds which were spreaded in Spain belonged to this domestication center. Moreover, these seeds have a big size to agree with preferences in the studied zones. The knowledge about the origin center of the studied varieties is interesting to establish a crossing programs which are important in plant breeding.
