Abstract

Estudiar el efecto que tiene el consumo de etanol sobre los niveles de SAMe, y establecer una relación temporal entre los niveles de SAMe y GSH mitocondrial. Determinar la cinética del transporte de SAMe mitocondrial, y evaluar los posibles mecanismos por los que el consumo de etanol podría estar disminuyendo los niveles de SAMe mitocondrial. Analizar a través de biopsias de pacientes obesos con enfermedad de hígado graso no alcohólica, los niveles de colesterol libre en hígado y establecer una correlación entre los niveles de colesterol libre y la expresión de proteínas que regulan la homeostasis del colesterol y su transporte hacia la mitocondria. Determinar si la disminución selectiva de los niveles de GSH mitocondrial modulan la toxicidad ejercida por el Aß. Analizar los niveles de GSH y colesterol mitocondrial en ratones Tg-SREBP-2 y NPC1-/-. Estudiar la aparición de las primeras características patológicas de neuroinflamación y neurodegeneración en la EA, después de la infusión del Aß en ratones Tg-SREBP-2 y valorar el efecto protector de un tratamiento con éster de GSH.
