La presente tesis trata sobre los mecanismos moleculares en los que se fundamenta el antagonismo entre Shh (Sonic Hedhehog) y BMP-2 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2) en la proliferación de las células granulares de cerebelo, siendo Shh un potente agente mitótico en estas células y BMP-2 un promotor de la salida de ciclo y la diferenciación hacia neuronas de estas células. En el presente trabajo se caracterizan los patrones de expresión de los diferentes componentes de la ruta de las BMPs en el cerebelo en desarrollo y se plantea un mecanismo antagónico entre Shh y BMPs basado en la acción represora de TIEG-1 sobre el promotor de Nmyc.
