[EN]In this paper we study the mineralogy of the sand fraction in four profiles (one arenosol, one gleysol and two luvisols) developed over Neogene and Quaternary sediments of arkosics and sands. The most abundant minerals in the heavy fraction are tourmaline, zircon, garnet, epidote, biotite and ilmenite. Light fraction is mainly forme by quartz. This mineralogy form a contrast with the one of other soils in the South of the province of Valladolid, located in the West part of this zone, richer in minerals of metamorphic origin. The alteration is influenced by the soil moisture regime.
