Abstract

En primer lugar, la realización de este estudio ha sido posible gracias a la “Obra Social y Cultural de la Caja de Ahorros y Monte Piedad de Segovia” al financiarlo por medio de una de las becas de Medio Ambiente en su XIX edición. Además, este trabajo contó con el apoyo logístico de la Estación Biológica de “El Ventorrillo”, perteneciente al Museo nacional de Ciencias Naturales (CSIC). También queremos agradecer a Nuria Polo-Cavia su ayuda en la recolección de especimenes en Segovia. La Dirección General de Medio Natural de la Junta de Castilla y León y la Consejería del Medio Ambiente de la Comunidad de Madrid nos proporcionaron los permisos necesarios para el trabajo de campo

Últimamente se ha puesto de relieve que la mayor parte de la población humana vive ahora en áreas urbanas (Crane & Kinzig 2005). Alrededor del 65% de la población humana residirá en ciudades en el año 2025 y esas áreas serán el doble en cuanto a cobertura del terreno durante el mismo periodo (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affaire 2003). La mayor parte de este cambio ocurrirá en el mundo desarrollado, donde la población urbana está previsto que crezca hasta los cuatro billones de personas en el 2030 (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affaire 2003).
