Abstract

El presente trabajo aborda el análisis de las incidencias ocurridas en el trabajo de campo de los estudios que utilizan la entrevista telefónica asistida por ordenador como procedimiento de recogida de datos. La literatura reciente en torno al problema de la no respuesta coincide en señalar la creciente dificultad para completar las muestras previstas en el diseño de las investigaciones basadas en la realización de encuestas tanto personales como telefónicas. Esta dificultad se manifiesta en los dos principales componentes de la no respuesta: la localización de las unidades muestrales y su disposición a participar en la encuesta. El objetivo de este artículo es el de poner de manifiesto esta complejidad a partir de la descripción de las incidencias producidas en el trabajo de campo de dos investigaciones realizadas por el Instituto de Estudios Sociales Avanzados de Andalucía (IESAA/CSIC) y cuyo procedimiento de recogida de datos es la encuesta telefónica asistida por ordenador (CATI). Asimismo, se pretende determinar en qué medida influye el ámbito territorial de las investigaciones en las dificultades experimentadas en el trabajo de campo.
