Abstract

Los autores llevan a cabo un estudio sobre la infestación del mejillón cultivado, en la ría de Vigo, por Mytilicola intestinalis steurer, con objeto de comprobar si la tasa de infestación actual es la esperada suponiendo que dicha infestación se realiza al azar. Se ha llegado a las conclusiones siguientes: a) la probabilidad de infestación, en las condiciones actuales, es aproximadamente del 58%, el número medio de parásitos por mejillón parasitado es de 2,23. b) la tasa de infestación más alta tiene lugar en primavera y otoño (marzo y septimebre-octubre). c) la tasa de infestación ha aumentado en función del número de bateas instaladas en la ría de Vigo, ya que la infestación se hace al azar. d) el número medio de machos parásitos es más alto que el de hembras durante todo el año, especialmente de julio a enero. e) la posibilidad de coincidencia de parásitos de ambos sexos en el intestino del mejillón es del 24% aproximadamente (40% de mejillones no parasitados y 36% de mejillones parasitados pero con parásitos del mismo sexo)
