Abstract

[EN] An account is given about the activities carried out during the Second Meeting of the International Committee for Coal Petrology, which took place in Liege from May 23rd. to 25th. of this year. Firstly, the communications presented by petrologists of different countries about matters concerned to instruments, methods and results reached through microscopical observation and analysis, theoretical petrology and some problems related to applied petrology and geology, are briefly summarized. Afterwords, the main resuhs got on the line of petrographic lexicon are shown, pointing out the present stage overcome by international vocabulary on coal components (macerals and microlithotypes). At last, the principal observations and propositions suggested by the Spanish delegation are transcribed, specially those related to a new distribution of microlithotypes and, particularly, the intermediate stages (Zwischenstufen) vitrite-durite.
