Abstract

[EN] Decennatherium was stablisbed by CRUSAFONT (1952), who placed it in the Giraffinae subfamily, on the basis of dental and postcranial elements. CRUSAFONT (1961) in the PIVETEAU Traité de Paleontologie figured a Decennatherium skull of Matillas locality, but it was not described. In this paper the Matillas skull has been studied. Tbe presence of two heavy, conical, forward-projecting ossicones aboye 1w orbits is characteristie of Decennatherium skull and confirm the close relationship with the Sivatheriinae subfamily.
