Abstract

[EN] A Lebanese-Sapanish team has carried out some archaeological investigations in the Neolithic site of Tell Labwe, located 30 km north of Baalbek, in the Lebanese Bekaa valley. The site had already been investigated by D. Kirkbride in the 60’s of the last century, who carried out two test-soundings. She documented some occupations dated in the Late PPNB and in the first Pottery Neolithic, corresponding to the first farmer communities in Lebanon. We have worked at a long section, 47m long and 4m high, which is the result of the cutting of the mound taking place during the construction of the Baalbek-Homs road, during the last century. We have documented 4 archaeological levels, including architectural remains and all kind of archaeological materials, which have been dated by C14 between 8100 ± 40 BP (base) and 7640 ± 40 BP (upper level)
