Los perisodáctilos de la Autovía Orbital de Barcelona B-40, tramo Olesa de Montserrat - Viladecavalls (cuenca del Vallès-Penedès, Vallesiense)

Abstract

En este trabajo, se dan a conocer los restos fósiles de perisodáctilos del Mioceno superior (Vallesiense, MN 9 y/o MN 10) recuperados durante la intervención paleontológica realizada paralelamente a las obras de construcción de la Autovía Orbital de Barcelona B-40, tramo Olesa de Montserrat ¿ Viladecavalls (cuenca del Vallès-Penedès). En base al material recuperado durante las campañas 2008-2009 y preparado para su estudio, se registra la presencia de dos taxones: Hippotherium primigenium catalaunicum (Equidae: Hipparionini) y Aceratherium incisivum (Rhinocerotidae: Rhinocerotini), ambos citados con anterioridad de otros yacimientos del área de Viladecavalls. No se ha identificado resto atribuible a Dihoplus schleiermacheri ni Chalicotherium goldfussi, previamente registrados en Viladecavalls, aunque no se puede descartar su presencia dada la baja proporción de restos preparados para su estudio.

Este estudio ha sido posible gracias a la financiación del Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (CGL2008-00325/BTE; y RYC-2009-04533 a D.M.A), el Ministerio de Educación (beca predoctoral FPU a O.S.) y la Generalitat de Catalunya (2009 SGR 754 GRC). Los trabajos de campo y parte de la preparación paleontológica han sido financiados por la UTE Autovía B-40, mientras que el resto de trabajos de preparación han sido sufragados por el Institut Català de Paleontologia.
