The objective of this article is to present the practice of female circumcision in Egypt, describing its characteristics and significance. ' The text also approaches the juridic legality, monotheisms, and femini st movements with the purpose of explaining why this practice is still being defended and exalted nowadays by a part of the Egyptian society.
