Procesado digital de señales ultrasónicas para la determinación de constantes elásticas dinámicas en materiales rocosos

Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se describe la utilización de técnicas ultrasónicas para la determinación de constantes elásticas de muestras rocosas, en particular granitos. Se han utilizado técnicas de transmisión (through transmission) y parejas de transductores de 50 kHz para ondas longitudinales y de 100 kHz para ondas transversales para la medida de los tiempos de tránsito y velocidades correspondientes. La medida de la velocidad de las ondas ultrasónicas transversales presenta especial dificultad por la generación simultánea de ondas longitudinales de menor amplitud que se solapan con el primer tren de ondas transversales. Se ha desarrollado una herramienta en lenguaje MATLAB que incluye algoritmos de procesado de señales para realizar una mejor interpretación de las trazas digitalizadas (que incluyen reflexiones, conversiones de modo y reverberaciones en las superficies de las muestras) y facilitar la estimación del tiempo de vuelo de cada tipo de onda, mediante diversos algoritmos basados en análisis espectral, filtrado digital y transformada de Hilbert. Utilizando transductores de ondas transversales se ha medido simultáneamente la velocidad de las ondas longitudinales y transversales.

[EN] Ultrasonic techniques have been used in this work for obtaining the elastics constants in granite rocks. In particular, through transmission techniques, with ultrasonic transducers pairs of 50 kHz for longitudinal waves and 100 kHz for shear waves, have been used for the measurement of transit times and corresponding velocities. The measurement of ultrasonic shear waves velocities is particularly difficult because of the simultaneous generation of lower amplitude longitudinal waves which overlap the first arriving transversal wave. A MATLAB program has been developed for a better analysis and interpretation of the digitized ultrasonic traces (which include reflection, conversion of modes and reverberation at the different surfaces of the granite samples) and for a better estimation of different transit times. Signal processing algorithms for spectral analysis, digital filtering and envelop evaluation of different components of the ultrasonic trace, are included. Using the shear wave transducers pair, the longitudinal and shear wave velocities have been measured simultaneously.
