Arsénico en aguas subterráneas: su transferencia al suelo y a la planta

Abstract

El trabajo de investigación está orientado al conocimiento de las causas de la presencia anómala de arsénico en las aguas subterráneas de un sub-sector de la cuenca terciaria del Duero y su evolución temporal, así como el impacto que tiene en los suelos agrícolas el uso de estas aguas de riego, a través de la identificación de factores de bioacumulación en vegetales destinados al consumo humano y detectar posibles riesgo para la salud. En la mayoría de las aguas, se observa una concentración de as superior a los 10 μicrogamos/l recomendados por la OMS, así como una correlación estadísticamente significativa entre el contenido de arsénico y hco3-,la liberación de as es por competencia iónica a PH básico. La transferencia del as a vegetales cultivados en la zona: zanahorias, patatas y remolacha azucarera, se constata en los valores encontrados, que superan los 0.05-1 mg/kg materia seca recomendados por la OMS.
