Música para textos poéticos de la Edad de Oro. Entre la tradición y la modernidad

Abstract

En los Siglos de Oro música y poesía forman una unidad artística indisoluble en su planteamiento estético y expresivo, como lo demuestran los romances líricos y otras tipologías afines que se comprenden bajo el epígrafe de “letras” o “tonos”, tanto humanos como divinos. Por esta razón, una propuesta metodológica de estudio y análisis de cualquier composición poético-musical de la época necesita examinar, conjunta e interdisciplinariamente, la estrecha relación y mutua dependencia que se da entre texto musical y texto poético. En este sentido, el objetivo de la presente comunicación es observar el comportamiento de la música que los compositores españoles más relevantes de la época utilizaron para resaltar la expresividad de los textos poéticos de ingenios como Lope, Góngora, Hurtado de Mendoza y muchos poetas anónimos. Tras el análisis de determinados parámetros melódicos y rítmicos de la estructura musical se llega a la conclusión de que la estrategia compositiva del músico obedece a dos planteamientos: por una parte a la (re)utilización de elementos procedentes del fondo de música tradicional o popular, y, por otra, a la inclusión de elementos de inspiración propia por parte del compositor. Incluso algunas obras pueden llegar a presentar una amalgama de ambos procedimientos compositivos.
