Abstract

[EN] This paper analyzes the economic weight of the amounts of amortization of investments in dairy sheep farms and discuss its relevance to the continuity and production system. This is made from surveys of a representative sample of farms in the province of León (Spain). The sample has a high heterogeneity in the age of the investment. This is the reason why rates of amortization are considered in three formats: taking at face value, updating the value under the CPI and to a regime situation. To simplify the analysis and presentation of the results, assets subject to amortization are grouped in buildings, machinery and facilities, and livestock. The results show that, given current values, the weight percentage of amortization is distributed evenly among the three groups. Moreover, the greater expectations of continuity, are more intensive in the production systems, the lower in the age of the property investment and the greater in the amounts of amortization, approaching a regime situation.
