[EN]This paper is part of a PhD project that aims to assess continuity or disruption in the financial structure of the municipality of Porto, the second city of Portugal, towards the implementation of the standardizing and centralizing guidelines of the reform imposed by the Crown in the 2nd half of the 18th century. The financial structure will be analyzed upon its organization, administration, inspection, bookkeeping and the expenditure flows along an earlier (reign of D. João V), contemporary and subsequent period to the reform (reign of D. José).

[POR]Este artigo insere-se num projecto de Doutoramento que pretende aferir continuidade ou ruptura na estrutura financeira municipal do Porto, a segunda cidade de Portugal, face à implementação de directrizes uniformizadoras e centralizadoras da reforma imposta pela Coroa na segunda metade do século XVIII. A estrutura financeira será analisada a partir da sua organização, administração, fiscalização, registo contabilístico e fluxos de despesas num período anterior (reinado de D. João V), contemporâneo e posterior à reforma (reinado de D. José).
