Abstract

[EN]Early modern history societies were, essentially, conflictives. Our investigation is focus on those conflicts that were born because of the metric system complexity and, consequently, the undefined limits of things. This issue has not been researched yet, but there are certains studies that help us to start our research. Maybe the best work was made by W. Kula, titled Measures and men, although it was not the only one attempt: there is also another work about timing and its conception by differents groups of the society ( e.g: laboral work). The origin of the conflicts requires looking for documentation from the court, but not only: there is a lot of these conflicts that were not solved in the court and even if these conflicts arrived at court, there are again a lot of them who were detained and solved either by deals or agreements without court decision. In add, we should study any other documentation about the metric system before the Revolution of 18th century, as well as legal papers from councils. This is only a research proposal and a review of this issue from precedents works.
