Abstract

[EN]In 1668, after several of civil wars, John Casimir Vasa abdicated the throne of Poland. In the same year, Paris and Vienna agreed the first treaty of partition, inaugurating a period of understanding between France and the Empire. The present work aims to study the state of the court of Vienna in the coming months, and the connections between Vienna, Madrid, Warsaw and Berlin. For this purpose, we will use the correspondence of the Spanish Embassy in Vienna, at this time led by the controversial Count of Castellar.
