Abstract

[ES] With the aim of analizing preference population of different sounds, as well as to know the significance given to them, 20 sounds were assessed on a seven-point pleasantness-annoyance scale. The significance given to the sound stimuli was appraised with the description of senses combined to them. Two procedures were applied: sounds written drescriptions and listening. 279 subjects participated in this study, with a wide range of age (14 or more years old). Significant differences were obtained in the sound assessments as function of the different assessed categories (natural sounds, human sounds, technological sounds and soundmarks). Moreover the procedures applied influence in sound stimuli assessments.
