Variabilidad de la DI50 en cultivos de Thalassiosira rotula desarrollados en presencia de PCBs

Abstract

Se expusieron poblaciones de Thalassiosira rotula, en crecimiento exponencial, a 20, 50, 100 y 200 µg/L (ppb) del Arocolor-1232 y a 5, 10, 25 y 50 µg/L (ppb) del Aroclor-1248. La DI50/44 del A-1232 resultó ser 71 ppb, mientras que la DI50/44 del A-1248 fue de 20 ppb. puesto que la sucesión de fases que caracteriza el desarrollo de los cultivos de microorganismos en régimen discontinuo es correlativa con el estado fisiológico de las poblaciones celulares, cabe suponer que la fase en la que se encuentra la población utilizada como inóculo determine en alguna medida su respuesta a los PCBs. Se observa que la fase del ciclo del crecimiento de la que procede la población del inóculo ejerce una influencia determinante sobre la sensibilidad del microorganismo a los tóxicos, siendo máxima en la fase exponencial.
