Abstract

La Toxicologia, en la actualidad, está alcanzando una gran trascendencia social debido al gran número de sustancias químicas comercializadas y su impacto sobre la salud pública y ambiental, lo cual ha conducido al desarrollo de estrategias de evaluación de riesgos con fines normativos. La diferente procedencia académica de los toxicólogos exige un esfuerzo para mantener una homogeneidad de conceptos y términos. la Red Iberoamericana de Toxicologla y seguridad Química (RITSQ, www.ritsq.org.) Coordina la participación de los diferentes grupos ex istentes en Universidades y organismos de investigación de Iberoamérica. Implicados en estudios de la Toxicología.
