Abstract

[EN]The present work comprises the first step in the study of the plant-herbivore interrelationships in the Doñana Biological Reserve (Huelva, Spain) and the Natural Reserves of Cazorla-Segura and Grazalema. The chemical composition (organic fractions and mineral elements) and digestibility of 105 herbaceous and woody species pertaining to Mediterranean shrubs are studied. The relative variability of each of the parameters in the overall set of species together with the ordering of the samples is examined by factor analysis components on the basis of those variables. The greates variations are seen to occur in the concentrations of protein, ADF, P and Mn. These are followed by the concentrations of the remaining carbohydrates and mineral elements, with special emphasis being placed on K and digestibility owing to their fluctuations. Further-more, high levels are seen in lignin and Na; low levels in P, and moderate levels in the rest of the quality indices. Analysis by principal components points to two trends; one, marked by the lignin-DNDF contraposition, is reflected in the herbaceous-shrub species gradient and the other, conditioned by the fibre-cell content gradient, permits the establishment of groups in taxonomic series with greater or lesser precision. Inclusion of the mineral variables yields data of interest concerning the segregation in species with special characteristics.

[ES]Este trabajo constituye un primer paso en el estudio de las interrelaciones plantas-herbívoros en el Parque Nacional de Doñana y los Parque Naturales de Cazorla-Segura y Grazalema. Se estudia la composición química (fracciones orgánicas y elementos minerales) y digestibilidad de 105 especies herbáceas y leñosas del matorral mediterráneo. Se considera la variabilidad relativa de cada uno de los parámetros en el conjunto total de especies, y la ordenación de las muestras mediante el análisis factorial en componentes principales, en base a las mismas variables. Las mayores variaciones se producen en las concentraciones de proteína, ADF, P y Mn. A éstas siguen las de los restantes carbohidratos y elementos minerales, destacando K y digestibilidad por su escasa fluctuación. Por otra parte, se aprecian niveles altos en lignina y Na, bajos en P y moderados en los demás índices de calidad. El análisis en componentes principales resalta dos tendencias: una, marcada por la contraposición lignina-DNDF, se traduce en la gradación herbácea-arbustivas, y la otra, condicionada por el gradiente fibra-contenido celular, permite establecer grupos con apreciación taxonómica más o menos precisa. La inclusión de la variables minerales aporta datos de interés en la segregación de especies con características peculiares.
