[en] The Manzaneda anticline (Cabrera Alta, León) represents a N110ºE trending tectonic structure plunging towards the NW along the closure of the Truchas Sinclinorium. It is cored by quartzites (Ordovician) and affected by a complex joint network associated with quartz veins. Moreover, the anticline is cut by a thrust which uplifts the southern flank and slightly tilts it towards the SW. This fault is segmented along strike and cut by subsequent faults that displace it. The major structures in the area are covered by Tertiary sed- iments, indicating a Pre-Cenozoic age. In general, the cleavage imposed over the pelitic rocks is penetrative, characterized by a constant NW-SE striking axial-plane foliation. Such cleavage is modified by the presence of kinks and crenulations, indicating a complex deformational history. Furthermore, the overall structure of the Manzaneda antiform can be interpreted as being re- lated to the Hercynian deformation as there is little evidence of Alpine tec- tonics.
