Negociacions per a una conquesta i rituals per a un canvi de sobirania. La conquesta del Regne de Múrcia per Jaume II

Abstract

En 1296 Jaime II de Aragón invade el Reino de Murcia, que pertenecía a la Corona de Castilla. En 1303 Jaime II propone una solución arbitral al conflicto y se pacta una tregua para que los Reinos de Castilla y Aragón puedan negociar, con el Rey Dionisio de Portugal actuando como mediador. Comienzas las complejas negociaciones y acuerdos entre todas las partes implicadas, y finalmente se dicta sentencia en Torrellas en agosto de 1304. Se divide el Reino de Murcia entre Castilla y Aragón, pero esto no termina con las duras y complicadas negociaciones para compensar a todas las partes implicadas por las tierras que han perdido. Finalmente, en 1306, Elda y Novelda pasan a la Corona de Aragón y Cartagena a la Corona de Castilla.
