Abstract

[EN]Infrared reflectance spectroscopy (I.R.S) technique is studied for automatic evaluation and analysis of forage and fibrous food. Spectral curves of the forage reflectance clearly show that they are compound curves and characterstics of the various chemical constituents of grass. Such chemical constituents or quality factors are not directly determined by I.R.S. but they can be so, after calibration, through prediction equations obtained from composition samples or known animal responses. Once the system has been calibrated may determine multiple quality factors n just a few minutes. The study of this analysis system exactness and accuracy presents relatively low stimation standard errors (between 0.5 and 4%) thus allowing for is utilization. Results are perceptibly improved by especial selections of wavelengths.
