Materiales gemológicos españoles: los zafiros de Goyan (Pontevedra)

Abstract

Los corindones de Goyan (Pontevedra) aparecen en los núcleos de masas de andalucita en venas de segregación en micaesquistos. Por ATD-TG, Scanning-EDAX y DRX hemos comprobado que están transformados parcialmente hacia diaspora. Mediante microscopía de polarización, FRX y DRX se estudian las rocas encajantes y se hacen algunas consideraciones petrológicas y geoquímicas con el objeto de buscar el origen de los elementos cromóforos de los zafiros. El valor gemológico es discreto, únicamente interesantes a nivel nacional.
