Abstract

[EN]A critical study is made of the spectrophotometric determination of nitrates in Lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) by the methods of Baker, Kapustyanskii-Khovanov and Huphries. The last method was found to be the most convenient σ = ±1.9 and mean recovery 99.8%). The other (two methods were quite reliable in their results although that of Kapustyanskii-Kovanov while being easy to handle strowed to be not as accurate, that of Baker was used here slightly modified and though it shows highest sensibility its accuracy did wot match that found when using the Humphries method.

[ES]Se realiza un estudio critico de la determinación espectrofotométrica de nitratos por los métodos de Baker, Kapustyanskii-Khovanov y Humphries aplicados a muestras de Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). El último de ellos se considera como el má apropiado (σ = ± 1.9% y recuperación 99.8%). El más sencillo y rápido fue el de Kapustyanskii-Khovanov, aunque poco sensible y preciso. El de mayor sensibilidad resultó ser el de Baker ligeramente modificado, pero no tan preciso y exacto como el de Humphries.
