Qué es la Biblioteca Virtual del CSIC. Breve descripción

Abstract

Para el pasado año 2005, el CSIC ha invertido en información científica más de 7 millones de euros, repartidos en 51 bases de datos, 26 portales de revistas electrónicas (más de 5.000 títulos), 3 portales de e-libros, más de 5.000 suscripciones de revistas en papel, y en las monografías impresas. El uso de esta colección es intenso: por lo que se refiere a los recursos electrónicos, fácilmente medibles, los datos de 2004 fueron elocuentes: en revistas hubo un total de 985.490 artículos descargados, en libros 18.439 capítulos visualizados, en bases de datos 864.117 búsquedas. La cantidad de información, heterogénea en su forma de consulta, forzaba a mejorar el canal de presentación.
