De vestidos y gala: influencias francesas en el apariencia y el aparato de la corte de la primera mitad del siglo XVIII

Abstract

Este trabajo pretende analizar el aparato de la corte española durante el siglo XVIII tras la subida al trono de Felipe V. Con la llegada del Duque de Anjou, de hecho, se reformaron los hábitos y los comportamientos de la Casa Real y se implantó un nuevo código de las apariencias. Esta nueva imagen, retórica de la dinastía borbónica, reflejaba el honor absolutista de Luís XIV y se convertía en un estricto protocolo estético. Partiendo de la reforma de las dependencias reales, se propone analizar las apariencias palaciegas como ceremonial estético de Su Majestad. En esta morfología de la etiqueta, se ponía de manifiesto el honor soberano en las postrimerías del Antiguo Régimen. Por eso se presenta el modelo textil, dentro del más amplio aparato cortesano, como suntuosa manifestación de la nueva monarquía e imagen simbólica de la dignidad del soberano. Al mismo tiempo, se pretende investigar a través de la documentación notarial la recepción del nuevo código vestimentario entre las élites cortesanas, las posibles resistencias y su manifestación y la difusión de los modelos al resto de la sociedad.
