Eight pedons representing the most common soils in the Sierra Norte from Sevilla were examined. They were classified as Entisols, Inceptisols, Alfisols and Ultisol. Morphological and analytical data of each pedon were presented and inferred. Productivity, fertility, and erodibility of the studied soils were briefly discussed. Considerable differences were found in land capability classes defined by the U.S. Soil Survey staff.
