Abstract

[EN] This paper deals with the sound insulation improvement of a new type of wall backings: ‘hard’ flexural backings with critical frequency below 500 Hz. Main factors governing the sound insulation improvement process are analyzed as well as their influence on the shape of the ΔR(f) curve. Values of global quantity ΔRA for the best conditions are found to be superior to 25 dBA, for the reference curve of low critical frequency curve as well as for the reference curve of medium critical frequency. A new line of acoustically efficient wall backing products is open of particular interest in buildings. The report concludes indicating some trends on more efficient spectral shapes of ΔR(f).
