Abstract

[EN] The required high-voltage driving pulses in ultrasonic quality control (NDE) suffer marked perturbations in shape and amplitude of the frequency spectrum when they are applied across the probe reactive impedance. Limitations of an NDE pulse generator to supply "nominal" waveforms in frequency domain across a probe are shown. Some alterations in the HV pulses, induced from electrical and motional probe sections, are analysed. Prediction of driving waveforms with different probes is an useful tool to improve NDE results, but requires fairly complex models in transient regime whose limitations are commented.
