Abstract

[EN]: The effect of the inoculation of two vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhiza (VAM). (Glomus deserticola and Glomus clarum) upon biomass production (Fresh weight and dry weight) of young cassava plants (Manihoc esculenta Crantz), clone SOM-I, grown under different salinity levels EC 0.5, 6 and 9 dS m(elevado a -1) was studied. The amóunts indicated salt (NaCl) present in the growth medium did not affeet plant fresh and dry weight after 30 days in culture, showing a fair salinity tolerance by clone SOM-I but impeding to determine the mycorrhiza effect on this salinity tolerance. Micorrhiza (VAM) infection significantly increased biomass production of clone SOM-l young plants regardless of tbe diferent sal! treatments.
