Abstract

Materiales termohíbridos inorgánico-orgánicos de baja densidad y su procedimiento de obtención. Los materiales termohíbridos de la invención se obtienen a partir del proceso sol-gel mediante la mezcla de polímeros orgánicos tipo polidimetilsiloxano líquidos a temperatura ambiente y alcóxidos metálicos del tipo M(OR)n (donde M= Si, Zr, Ti, Al y R son radicales orgánicos hidrolizables de tipo alquilo lineal o ramificado) y cargas inorgánicas del tipo SiO2 de bajo tamaño de partícula. El proceso sol-gel consiste en la hidrólisis y policondensación de los alcóxidos metálicos anteriormente citados. Cuando se produce la policondensación, ésta se realiza entre los grupos hidrolizados, el polímero orgánico y las cargas inorgánicas introducidas, obteniéndose al final del proceso un material monolítico. Debido a que la reacción se realiza en estado líquido no existe ningún impedimento en conformar el material final con cualquiera forma. Aplicaciones principales en el sector aeronáutico, aeroespacial y construcción.
