[EN] The Glass-ceramics obtained from controlled nucleation and crystalllzatíon of glasses could be usad as gems. Therefore, 22 glass-ceramics obtained from Ilthia-g lasses wlth Mn02 Cr223• V20 5 or CdO addltlons have been considered from the gemologic polnt of view. Hence. after cutting and polishlng their optlcal propertles: refractlon indexo reflectivity. colour .... and mecha ni cal properties such as wear resistance and toughness have been determined.
