[EN] This article analyses in depth the artistic and political career of the painter and draftsman Augusto Fernández Sastre, since his first steps in the art world until his arrival to exile in Latin America. His paintings, drawings, political posters and book il-lustrations, his contacts with avant-garde, his role in the radio and the fact that he was a mason and a socialist militant, as well, justify the interest of the analysis of this trajec-tory. Therefore, this paper recovers the figure of the forgotten artist Augusto Fernández, a complex character that had much to do with the development of the cultural Spanish life of the beginning of the 20th century.
